About Us

The mission of the student association is to eradicate hunger among UPRM students.

The different departments of the Dean of Students refer member of the student body who experience food insecurity to Come Colegial. Referrals are also received from other campus offices, administrative staff and classmates. Biweekly we provide participating members with two reusable bags of non-perishable food worth approximately $120. Service continues until they can achieve food stability on their own. In addition, other activities are held such as the Final Feliz to celebrate the end of the semester with a hot lunch. Also, among the different activities, they hold the 'Free Mini Market,' where non-perishable products are distributed, and essential items are provided to university community members who need them. The vision of Come Colegial is to create a university environment where students have the opportunity to seek help during times of food crisis, in an environment free of stigma. Our service is undertaken to guarantee that all UPRM students can continue their studies and complete their academic degree: bachelor's degree, master's degree or doctorate.
